Bands

The IdleTimers forged close relationships with the top singers and musicians in the Washington DC area.  They were in bands formed by the IdleTimers and performed in shows written and produced by the IdleTimers.  We can bring the musicians, all of whom are already fully up-to-speed on our originals and cover songs, to join us when the venue or event calls for it.
IdleTimer Danielle Westphal performed with Washington DC's top bands.  She released her 'High Standards' collection and did other shows with her jazz ensembles at Blues Alley in Washington DC.  She performs with DC wedding band  'Swing Speak.'  She performs with top keyboardists, bass players, and others at clubs and events in the DC area, and in road shows such as the opening of the Indianapolis Museum of Modern Art and in Nashville for a Travel Industry convention.
The IdleTimers formed the ContraBand to perform at the 'An American Musical Landscape' show.  The same band performed in that show and in road shows for 15 years.  The IdleTimers can bring some or all Contraband players to perform with them, to accommodate any event or venue.  Notable players include Keith Killgo, the drummer in the Blackbyrds, best known for singing 'Walking in Rhythm;' Dan Reynolds, the keyboardist who directs almost all of Danielle's jazz ensembles and accompanies the IdleTimers on many gigs; and Eric Scott, the bass player and songwriter who has won countless awards for his original songs and energetic performances.
The IdleTimers performed regularly with The Swooners featuring Rockabilly legend Billy Hancock, and DC's fixture drummer Barry Hart.  Billy and Barry are best known for their stint with the Fat Boys Band starring guitar icon Danny Gatton.  The Swooners also featured Brint Hannay, who sings and plays pedal steel and guitar, and is in the ContraBand.
